Gotham City

I am notorious for not updating my blog. If I got paid to do it I would be a serial poster. Be thankful I don't get paid to do this.
The past two weeks have involved New York City, a county fair, ridiculously good chili and some weather making me long for fall (just like every other basic white girl).
While in NYC I didn't take as many pictures as I hoped. However, I did get a few. I plan to return to that city and truly explore it. I have never been one for "touristy" areas. One of my favorite parts of the trip was when I was leaving. That may sound harsh but at 4:30am the only people out were the taxi drivers and city workers making that place tick. You could see the skyline, the architecture, and the stars above the glow of the city.
A big "Thank You" to my Aunt KK and Uncle Steve for inviting me to tag along on the trip to NYC! Although I keep thinking in the back of my mind I was invited to keep KK's things in my purse...
Holy Mutha Of Cheese Fries!
These were the best we ever had.
I may not be a Yankee fan but I am a fan of the food in Yankee Stadium.
Royals won the series 2-1!
Sunday was Derek Jeter Day at Yankee Stadium. There was a ceremony before the game including guest like Cal Ripkin Jr. and Michael Jordan. Between innings there were video messages from celebrities, athletes, sports commentators, coaches and more thanking "The Captain" for being a positive light to the sport. One might not be a fan of the only team Jeter has ever played for, but you have to be a fan of Jeter.

A must see if you are ever in NYC.

Washington Square

I can navigate the Underground in London and the Metro in Paris, but the Subway in NYC would be the death of me.

Tavern on the Green. IF! I ever get married the reception must look like this.
I would go back here in a heartbeat.

When I returned to Oklahoma the weather turned cool. It was spectacular. This was last Friday. I was about to have a weekend full of football, cooking and decorating with my mom.

I had a lunch date with Miss Q last Thursday while her mom and grandmother helped with the county fair.

Mixing colors for Teagan's Birthday Cake.
I made some hella good chili. And yes, those are Fritos in it.

Teagan's Batman Birthday Party!

This is what Monday looked like.

I wore this to work on Monday. I was cleaning and painting all day. One of my students took this picture of me.

Adventures with GuyJack and down sizing

Guess what I did this weekend? I traveled. A lot.
Wednesday I went to Oklahoma City with my mother for her annual conference, but I mainly went to take care of my nephews. Oscar is a total teenager now:( He is questioning everything and mouthy as all get out, but I love him anyway. GuyJack sure did love him some Carly! He was really sweet this past weekend. 3-year-olds are pretty darling.

This was Wednesday's, July 31, 2013 outfit. I have to brag a little bit on this. The dress that I am wearing was purchased when I was a sophomore... in HIGH SCHOOL! Most of you know, I have struggled with my weight my whole life and I have now taken some steps to get that under control. Also, this was the best hair day I have had in months and I decided to cut my hair this past weekend. I might be regretting it now:(

GuyJack was my lunch date Thursday and Friday. The food and conversation were both delightful.
Getting Fuzzed Up at Fuzzy's in Bricktown.

Best part about the hotel for GJ... THE POOL! Isn't he adorable with the towel around his waist?!?

Saturday, Manfriend and I took GJ to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Not sure who was more excited, Chance or GJ. We had a great time and GJ was very brave touching the different fish.

Sometimes my family doesn't think things through. Saturday night my mom met my brother and the rest of his family to watch the Monkees in concert. GJ was left with Chance and I. Needless to say, GJ basically got three milkshakes to get him happy. Manfriend was a champ.
This is a result of three milkshakes and being very sleepy: Carly with a baby.... in a coffee shop/bar at 10 pm. My aunt KK and my mom wanted to show my bother this coffee show (which was really cool) and we met them there after the concert. GJ was beyond exhausted.

Sunday morning, Chance and I went and got breakfast at Brookside By Day and might or might not have shared a pitcher of mimosas. After that we went shopping and spent the day looking for the best deals for tax free weekend. I needed tops, but all I got were pants. Story of my life.

I have been wearing an insane amount of blue lately. Check out those pants! and my new bangs:)
And this is today's, August 6, 2013, outfit. The dress is from Gap and the shoes are Sperry wedges. I do rock a lot of polka dots. BUT! The best part about this outfit is the size of the dress:)
