There are no excuses. I just fail sometimes.

Hello, lovers! I again must apologize for not posting my blog is a timely fashion. It is the one fashion trend I never understood.
So, since the Lilly Pulitzer sale website is down, let's play catch up on what I have been doing and what I have been wearing lately. Heeeeeeere We Go!

I have no idea what day this outfit was, BUT the top is from The Gap and it might be the most comfortable thing ever. It is made of polo material. Pants are from Old Navy.

Oh, Lilly Pulitzer! You never do me wrong! I have been eye balling this dress for a long time and finally splurged and bought it:) No regrets! The navy wedges are Lilly too.

It rained the first official day of school. The day felt like fall. I loved it! I have added the position of Student Activities Coordinator to my current position. I really think I am going to enjoy working with the student on campus. No idea where I go the top. It is a little too big now, but I can still make it work. Short rain boots are Kate Spade. The bun is outrageous!

So with my new position I get to have very flexible hours during the day because I plan most of my activities for the evenings. Fridays are a breeze because most students leave for the weekend. That means I get to jet out of here and start my weekends early!
Top is Lilly, dark skinny jeans are from Talbots, and the wedges are Sperry.

This is today, Monday, August 19, 2013. I have been frantic all morning for the Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer Sale. The one dress that I have been really wanting was in it but with the website hiccups was was not able to get it. I have another item that isn't in the sale just yet... but I am waiting.
The top is from TJMaxx. Love that place! The printed jeans are Nine West. Shoes are Madden Girl.

Adventures with GuyJack and down sizing

Guess what I did this weekend? I traveled. A lot.
Wednesday I went to Oklahoma City with my mother for her annual conference, but I mainly went to take care of my nephews. Oscar is a total teenager now:( He is questioning everything and mouthy as all get out, but I love him anyway. GuyJack sure did love him some Carly! He was really sweet this past weekend. 3-year-olds are pretty darling.

This was Wednesday's, July 31, 2013 outfit. I have to brag a little bit on this. The dress that I am wearing was purchased when I was a sophomore... in HIGH SCHOOL! Most of you know, I have struggled with my weight my whole life and I have now taken some steps to get that under control. Also, this was the best hair day I have had in months and I decided to cut my hair this past weekend. I might be regretting it now:(

GuyJack was my lunch date Thursday and Friday. The food and conversation were both delightful.
Getting Fuzzed Up at Fuzzy's in Bricktown.

Best part about the hotel for GJ... THE POOL! Isn't he adorable with the towel around his waist?!?

Saturday, Manfriend and I took GJ to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Not sure who was more excited, Chance or GJ. We had a great time and GJ was very brave touching the different fish.

Sometimes my family doesn't think things through. Saturday night my mom met my brother and the rest of his family to watch the Monkees in concert. GJ was left with Chance and I. Needless to say, GJ basically got three milkshakes to get him happy. Manfriend was a champ.
This is a result of three milkshakes and being very sleepy: Carly with a baby.... in a coffee shop/bar at 10 pm. My aunt KK and my mom wanted to show my bother this coffee show (which was really cool) and we met them there after the concert. GJ was beyond exhausted.

Sunday morning, Chance and I went and got breakfast at Brookside By Day and might or might not have shared a pitcher of mimosas. After that we went shopping and spent the day looking for the best deals for tax free weekend. I needed tops, but all I got were pants. Story of my life.

Monday, August 5, 2013
I have been wearing an insane amount of blue lately. Check out those pants! and my new bangs:)
And this is today's, August 6, 2013, outfit. The dress is from Gap and the shoes are Sperry wedges. I do rock a lot of polka dots. BUT! The best part about this outfit is the size of the dress:)

B is for Brother

For those of you who don't know, I am the youngest of two children. I swear my parents had me in case their eldest child needed a kidney, but as the years have gone by, my big brother, Brian, and I have become closer. The teenage years were trying. In my mind, my brother was put up on a pedestal and I was kept in the shadows. I have now realized that it really is different when parents are raising a son and daughter. My mom was just looking out for me and protecting me even though I didn't see it like that back then.
So, why am I telling you about this? Well, my brother is brilliant and I am so proud and honored to be his little sister. Brian has many talents, but of those talents, he is an exceptional writer. He is a lawyer by day and writer by night. His short stories and fiction and non fiction works are being picked up in internet magazines and an Oklahoma based magazine called "This Land" thislandpress.com. Follow him on Twitter  : @briantedjones

This is Brian and I at his graduation from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. Notice how much we look alike?

Today, July 30, 2013--------->
For some reason I felt the need to wear a blue shirt, blue pants and blue wedges. Today is the only full day at the office. Hello extra long weekend!

Sunburns and the Indiana Jones theme

Guess what? I traveled all weekend. Can you believe it?
Thursday I went to Lake Tenkiller near Tahlequah with members of my famDAMNily for a weekend of relaxation and lake time.

This was Thursday's, July 25, 2013, outfit. Who doesn't love some Willie Nelson?
The shirt says, "Have a WILLIE nice day."

Dru playing Galaga. This got a little intense.

What to do on a rainy day at the lake house? Watch movies and play the iPad. I never caught Dru in the act of play Candy Crush but she was stuck on the same level all weekend.
This is my weekend uniform. Mom told me to pack some nicer clothes for the coming weekend:(
Lake Day with Manfriend:) Even though he couldn't hum the theme from Indiana Jones during a game of Cranium, my heart still goes pitter patter for this guy.

My mom told me to clean out my closet at her house Sunday evening. This is what happened. Please note the gnarly sunburn on my legs... it is on my shoulders as well.

I have a doctor's appointment in Tulsa and I refuse to be uncomfortable on the ride up.
For the past week, I have woke up hoping it was fall and I have been dreaming of Oklahoma State Football. Maybe that is why there has been so much orange in my wardrobe lately...

Stripes two days in a row? What was she thinking!?!?

These past few days have been busy. Long meetings at work and going to my mother's house to help her clean up the yard from all the parties we have been hosting have me worn out.
I am also in a constant process of rearranging my living room. Lawd help me. I have a coffee table in my kitchen!

This was yesterday's, July 23, 2013 outfit:

Today, July 24, 2013:

Not sure what I was thinking with stripes two days in a row....

The not so dull life

I do not have a dull life... at all. People often ask me if I get tired of constantly being on the go, I tell them, "No. I would get bored."
I am lucky enough to have Fridays off during the summer. I truly believe long weekends are one of the greatest gifts from God. Especially long weekends with cool summer nights.
This is just a little bit of what I did this weekend.

This is Teagan. You might remember her from earlier posts. She is growing like a weed! She is eating a cucumber that has been soaked in vinegar. Her face is classic:)

This is Lakyn. She is Teagan's older sister. My aunt Shelley (their grandmother that they call Silly) and I are sitting in the back seat of a Enclave while this sleeping beauty took a nap.
If you know anything about me and my family you would know that my cousin Lane is playing minor league baseball and was just promoted to AA in Springdale, AR. This is only 2 hours from our hometown of Red Oak. Needless to say, we have already been to 3 games!

There really isn't an excuse for what happens on Main Street of Red Oak, OK. I'm not sure if this is Road Side Orthodontics or Tackle Box Orthodontics...

This is my sister-in-law, Jenne. She told my nephew, Oscar, to write his name on his beach towel before he went to a water park. This is where he chose his name placement. Face Palm.
I have a family reunion every Fourth of July. This year water balloons were a big hit. I found this under my mother's vanity Saturday morning. It is like a ticking time bomb.
This is Quincee or better known in the family as EllieMae Clampet. She had her first dance recital this weekend. We all agreed, gymnastics>dance.

I am planning on building a small house in Red Oak in the future and this is my dream of what it would look like!

 Monday, July 22, 2013
It is always freezing in my office! I have to basically put on my top layer when I get here because there is such a difference in temperature.
The orange pants are getting me pumped up for football season!

Mint Green Monday

Tragic Flaw #429: Procrastination
Tragic Flaw #843: Not updating my blog

In order to keep on flaw in check I must actually do the other... UPDATE MY BLOG!

My world has changed so much since I last let my small following of readers into my little slice of heaven that is life. I decided to make some drastic changes one being....
I Got Bangs! And a lot of other things....

Life is just peachy right now. Summer is here and that means, pools, lakes, short work weeks, big hats, sun dresses, and a little thing called a tan. While I can do without the 120 degree weather, early summer time is flat out wonderful.

This past weekend I was in Tulsa. This is what I did:

My family and I celebrated the 80th Birthday of Frosty Troy! He is a  brilliant mind and a true advocate for education in Oklahoma. I was so honored to know this man and he inspires me to always do the right thing.

GuyJack and Frosty! GJ was of course shy at the beginning but by the end of the night they were good friends. GJ even said "Happy Birthday!" to him in the sweetest voice:)

KK and GJ and Frosty's Birthday Dinner

I did not make my way to the lake house this weekend, but this little lady did. I crack up every time I see this picture. She looks to thrilled to be on a boat. A mutha effin boat..

I love my state. I bought two Oklahoma! tees this weekend at IDA RED on Brookside
I guess I should also mention I went to the LION KING Saturday night! Manfriend's mind was blown!

Today's outfit----------------------------->>>
It is raining outside hence the wellies and who doesn't want to wear mint green pants on a Monday?
